David Bolton

Senior Pastor – Staff Team

David is married to An and their Irish-Belgian family enjoys life in Harrogate. After completing a PhD in Pauline theology and inter-religious dialogue in Belgium he was appointed as Pastor at Mowbray Community Church in 2011.

As a member of the Senior Leadership Team he helps define the vision for MCC as we move forward in God’s purposes to Build a Community of God’s People to Love and to Serve. To this end he works hard at cultivating a spiritual environment for growth and development where worship, prayer, fellowship and service are maximised and enjoyed by all. Working closely with the Associate Pastor he proposes the teaching programme, preaches regularly and shares responsibility for the co-ordination and implementation of pastoral care across the church, especially to those in leadership roles. He also focuses on event organisation and administration, contributes strongly to the operational life of the whole church and keeps an eye on church-wide co-ordination.

He further seeks to develop and integrate the use of spiritual gifts among all members to maximise ministry effectiveness.  He is dedicated to implementing discipleship programmes to help mature people for committed service and takes a lead role in the development of the prayer life of the church. He also encourages and supports the advance of our mission work globally, visiting our mission partners around the world. David has a heart for all sectors of Harrogate society to be impacted by Jesus and the Kingdom of God, works ecumenically, loves deep theological research and enjoys practising the presence of God.

In his spare time he enjoys walking, bird watching, current affairs, travel, exercise, food and laughter.
